I interview Neha Daraad and discuss her debut Novel "Always Be Mine"
Q; *Always be mine* is your debut novel. How does it feel?
A; It feels great..Like many things changed after this book. I have my own identity..I am pursuing my dreams and the most important and beautiful part is everyone has appreciated my efforts. It feels great.😎😎
Q; What inspires you to write?
A; I have many things to share with this world. I love expressing my thoughts and story telling. I think words are the most magical instrument to convey your feelings. When someone reads you they have to listen to you completely. That's the best part. Another aspect is whenever you see around yourself there is so much going on.. everything is inspiration you need to live it.
Q; Have you always wanted to be a writer? (And was there a particular moment you thought, ‘I can do this!’?)
A; No! I mean I always had a thing for writing but I don't think I was taking it as career option. As every person in their early student life I was also juggling with the options. This story somehow happened to me and than it was bang! I knew what I want to do with my life. Yes, there was many a times, when I was in delimma that can I do this? How and what if it didn't worked out. But later I decided I will make this happen.
Q; What other novelists do you admire?
A; I am a big fan of Paulo Ceolho. 'The Alchemist' changed my life. He is the best.
Q; Why have you named your book "Always be mine"?
A; Basically this novel is a romantic fiction so I wanted it name to sound romantic. And in very love story we want the person we love to be our forever.
Q; How did the idea of writing this story germinate?
A; This is something interesting.. it randomly came into my mind. I was sitting with my laptop and I wrote the first line 'Stop you cannot do this!' and bang!! But the story had grown with the phases and it is very different from what it was at the time when I got this idea for this story.
Q; sketching a charachter by words is not an easy job bcoz it needs correct observation...have you experienced everything what you have written or you have researched?
A; I think I have somewhere experienced it. Research for me is more sort of observations. I observe thing and try to feel the feelings. When you portray a character it is very important to relate and connect to it and understand it's situation. Writer have the ability to feel and observe thing.
Q; What are the Most common dialogue mistake seen in a novel ?
A; I think some emotional torment of the main protagonist could have been written in a better way. Some dailouges were repetitive and may be monotonous.
Q; As an author what dissapoints you the most?
A; The high rated and hyped marketing. Sometimes it is irritating. Everyone out there is somehow trying to tell you until you flow money no matter what and how good your work is, you cannot go anywhere. I mean marketing is good and necessary but somewhere the politics in between is annoying.
Another annoying thing is everyone comes to you and ask to write their story. Hahaha.. I cannot write everyone's story? 😂🙄
Q; Like our films nudity is being served in literature too, whats your take on it?
A; If the purpose is the demand of the story then I have no issues. I will take it as honest and bold take. But I don't think that is the purpose today. I don't believe in writing on nudity for just for the sake to become famous and to go viral. I have some moral principles and belief and I will abide them all my life.
I am telling you this.. I had a proposal to write for some websites. They approached me to write romantic and erotic Content because I am an romantic author. I denied. They offered me very good amount but it is not something I can be okay with. It was really surprising to see how it all works.🙄🙄
Q; Do you think literature can help a nation in women empowerment?
A; Yes.. literature shows the idea in the brain of people. There are many a times when we read something new we are surprised to see that okay this can also happen. So, when new ideology and ideas will be circulated with the help of literature it will leave impact on the people and things will change.
Q; Will you write a novel on social issues?
A; Yes. I have written a short story which is published and released in an anthology named 'Middle March' world wide. I also plan to write novel on these issues. I will try to touch different shades an theme to write on..
Q; Everybody has a different point of view about everything specially the writer see the world differently and deeply, what type of changes you would like to see in your society in future?
A; Well, Every society at their point of time needed some changes so does our society. I feel what is most irrelevant is the way internet is changing us. It is making us modern and Virtual. There is formality everywhere. I just once wondered that how do I want to see my life after 30 years when I will be not this young because I will be that person who has contributed to make society what it is at that point of future. I think people are running towards a virtual life, everything is present at one finger click that is why we have somewhere forgotten what real life struggle for survival means.
Q; According to you what makes an author a successful writer?
A; There are many factors. In today's time it is all about good marketing both online and offline. But one more thing is important that success is not a commercial thing so somewhere it takes time for you to reach people but once you are there and reader connects with you. You are successful. Internet is a very good platform to promote your work and connect with readers.
Q; whats your future planning?
A; I want to write and establish myself as a novelist and writer. Then I also have some entrepreneurship plans. Let's see how all these thing goes...
Q; do you have any advice for the yet-to-be-published writers reading this?
A; There are lots of options and publishers but you need to focus, research and go further to save your self for any fraud.
Many writers have asked me how to publish the book but what was surprising that they haven't even started writing the book. This is wrong. Proceed step by step. First write and then go for publishing.
Plan, do research and try to work according to it.
